Perinatal wellbeing
There is support available

The journey of trying to conceive (TTC), pregnancy and new parenthood looks different for everyone. It is very common to experience a range of emotions such as sadness, anxiety, fear, confusion, anger, worry, joy, grief, excitement, and everything in between! As with any major lifestyle change, it takes time to adjust but it can often feel as though you are expected to just deal with it.

If you have a partner, pregnancy and parenthood can impact your relationship in a variety of ways. The two of you have now become three, and the dynamics change. Arguments may increase, feelings of resentment and guilt are common, and there may be less chance for intimate connection. Furthermore, research shows domestic violence can increase with a pregnancy.

Through counselling, you are giving yourself an opportunity to open up about how you are feeling and what you are experiencing with your fertility, pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding journey, or parenthood. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your situation and find some understanding and perhaps some strategies that work for you.

Perinatal counselling is inclusive and can bring support for cis- and trans-women, men, and non-binary folk. The difficulties surrounding pregnancy and parenthood can affect all people, regardless of gender and sexuality.

Building a healthy support network can be vital to managing your emotions and navigating your way through. As someone who has gone through IVF, is now a mum, and has found counselling to be the most helpful tool along the way, I want to be a support for you. Click below to learn more.
